What You Would Actually Pay

The answer depends on how many people need a full login. Here is the standard monthly cost for some typical setups, using the plan each business would realistically need.

Your businessTradify ProFergus
Sole trader with certificates£37£39 (Essentials)
3 people, all full users£111£135 (Professional)
1 office user + 4 staff on timesheet logins£185 (5 users)£93 (Professional + 4 timesheet users)

The pattern: Tradify is slightly cheaper when everyone needs a full login, which is how most sole traders and small teams work. Fergus can come out far cheaper for a team where only the owner or office runs jobs and the field staff just log time, because its timesheet users cost a fraction of a full user. Check with Fergus exactly what a timesheet user can see and do before you plan around that.

What We Found When We Tested Tradify

Hands-on findings

  • Quoting keeps your margins private. Each line shows your cost, markup and profit, but the customer’s copy only shows quantity, price and total.
  • Quote to job in two clicks. Accepting a quote created the job with the customer, address and description already filled in.
  • A full Electrical Installation Certificate. The EIC was a complete BS 7671 form with test results and signatures, pre-filled from the job.
  • Deposits can be a penny out. Our 30% deposit plus balance came to £622.52 against a £622.50 quote because of VAT rounding, so check the final invoice.

We ran a consumer unit upgrade through Tradify’s free trial as a test UK electrical contractor. We have not tested Fergus hands-on, so its details here come from Fergus’s own UK pricing, feature and help pages.
