What Jobber Does for Electricians
Electrical Templates on Signup, With a US Accent
Pick “Electrical Contractor” during onboarding and Jobber pre-loads quote templates and suggested products and services for electrical work. The catch for UK electricians is the wording: the templates we were given used American terms like “Electrical Panel Upgrade, 100 Amp Service” rather than consumer unit or board change, even with a UK address set on the account. It is a five-minute edit, but you will want to do it before a single quote goes to a real customer.
Quote to Job to Invoice With Nothing Re-Typed
This is the strongest part of the product. We built a quote for a consumer unit upgrade, approved it, converted it to a job and then to an invoice, and every line item, price and description carried across at each step. For an electrician juggling several rewires and callouts a week, not re-keying the same job three times is a real saving.
Per-Job Profit Tracking
The job screen shows live revenue, cost and profit for that specific job, not just at account level. On electrical work, where materials like consumer units, cable and accessories can swing a job’s margin, spotting an underpriced rewire before it becomes a habit is genuinely useful.
Control Over What the Customer Sees
Invoices have per-client toggles for quantities, unit prices, line totals, account balance and an overdue stamp. Handy if you do not want a domestic customer seeing your full parts breakdown on a board change, while a commercial client gets the itemised version.
The Catch: US Dollar Billing and Team Pricing
The app correctly shows pounds throughout once your address is set to the UK, but the subscription page itself is explicit: prices are in US dollars. Every monthly charge is a currency conversion at your card issuer’s rate, and some UK cards add a foreign transaction fee on top. For our 2–5 person test business, the Grow plan (the one with job costing and two-way SMS) was $299 a month, discounted to $200 a month for the first year. That is a meaningfully higher starting cost than Tradify or the UK-built tools, and it is pitched at a team rather than a sole trader.

Verdict, Is Jobber Worth It for Electricians?
Jobber’s core workflow is excellent: we took a consumer unit upgrade from quote to invoice without re-typing anything, and the per-job profit view is a genuinely useful tool on materials-heavy electrical work. For a UK electrician, though, three things count against it: US dollar billing, team pricing that is steep for a sole trader, and electrical templates written for the American market. It earns its place for a growing electrical contractor who values polish, while most solo and small UK electrical businesses will get better value from Tradify or Traddie.
