Jobber Review for UK Tradespeople (2026)

★★★★4/5TradeStack HQ Rating – based on hands-on testing of a full quote-to-invoice workflow

Jobber is one of the biggest names in trade job management software, and it’s a fixture at the top of most “best software” roundups, including our own. Rather than repeat the marketing copy, we signed up for the real 14-day free trial, set up a fictional UK electrical contractor account, and ran an actual job through it end to end: quote, job, invoice. Here’s what we found, including one detail that doesn’t show up until you actually try to pay for it.

What Is Jobber?

Jobber is a Canadian-built job management platform covering quotes, scheduling, invoicing, client management and payments, aimed at home and commercial service businesses. It’s a much bigger company than most of the tools we review, with three plans (Core, Connect, Grow) plus add-ons for marketing and an AI receptionist. UK tradespeople mostly meet it as the polished, well-funded option sitting alongside smaller, cheaper UK-built alternatives.

What We Actually Tested

Signup and setup

Real 14-day trial, no card required, using a UK address and a fictional 2–5 person electrical contractor business to see how the onboarding tailors itself.

The full job lifecycle

Created a real client, built a quote, approved it, converted it to a job, scheduled a visit, then generated an invoice, checking whether any details had to be re-typed at each step.

The onboarding is genuinely well built: pick “Electrical Contractor” as your trade and Jobber pre-loads relevant quote templates and suggested products and services automatically. The one wrinkle: those templates default to American terminology (“Electrical Panel Upgrade, 100 Amp Service”), not UK wording like consumer unit or board change, even when the account address is set to the UK. Not a dealbreaker, just a five-minute edit, but a sign the UK isn’t the primary market this was built for.

The quote-to-job-to-invoice pipeline itself is the strongest part of the product. We built a quote for a consumer unit upgrade, approved it, hit Convert to Job, and every line item, price and description carried over with nothing to re-type. Closing the job out to an invoice was the same again: one click, same line items, same total, ready to send. For a tool this size, that level of polish across the whole flow is genuinely impressive, and it’s the bar the smaller UK tools in our other reviews are competing against.

Small details that impressed us

  • The job screen shows live revenue, cost and profit for that specific job, not just at account level, useful for spotting an underpriced job before it becomes a habit
  • Invoices have per-client toggles for exactly what the client sees (quantities, unit prices, line totals, account balance, an overdue stamp), useful if you don’t want a domestic client seeing your full cost breakdown
  • Phone number validation actually checks whether a number can receive text messages before enabling Jobber’s two-way SMS features, rather than silently failing later
  • Closing a job automatically prompts you to invoice it, with an option to split a job into a scheduled payment plan instead of one lump invoice

The Catch: Billing Is in US Dollars, Not Pounds

Worth knowing before you sign up

  • Jobber bills in USD even on a UK account – the app itself correctly shows £ throughout once your address is set to the UK, but the actual subscription page is explicit: “Prices in $USD.” Every monthly charge is a currency conversion at whatever rate your card issuer applies that day, and some UK cards add a foreign transaction fee on top. None of the other job management tools we’ve reviewed (Traddie, Larzo, TraderCRM) have this issue, they bill in pounds because they’re UK-built.
  • It’s priced for a bigger business than most sole traders – plans are quoted per 5-user team by default once you’re through the trial. For our 2–5 person test business, Grow (the plan with job costing and two-way SMS) worked out at $299/month regularly, discounted to $200/month for the first year. Converted and with card fees, that’s a meaningfully higher starting cost than Tradify or the UK-built alternatives in this space.
  • Quote templates need a UK pass – the auto-suggested content on signup is written for a US audience and will need editing for UK terminology and regulations before you send anything to a real client.

Who Is Jobber Best Suited To?

Growing teams, not solo traders
The per-job profit tracking, workflow automation and client-view controls are built for a business that’s already scaling past one van, not someone quoting jobs from a van at lunchtime.
Businesses that don’t mind USD billing
If a small, predictable currency-conversion cost each month isn’t a dealbreaker, Jobber’s polish and feature depth are hard to match at this end of the market.

Verdict – Is Jobber Worth It?

Jobber’s core workflow is as good as its reputation suggests, we ran a real quote through to a paid-ready invoice without re-typing a single detail, and the per-job profit tracking is a genuinely useful touch most competitors don’t have. The USD billing is the real sting for a UK buyer though: it’s a cost that never shows up in the marketing and only appears once you’re looking at the actual bill, on top of pricing aimed more at an established team than a sole trader just starting out. Worth trying the free 14 days to judge the workflow for yourself, just go in knowing the currency question up front.
