VioTrade Review for Plumbers UK (2026)

★★★☆3.3/5TradeStack HQ Rating, promising but least proven for plumbing-specific compliance work
A note on how this review was done: our hands-on test of VioTrade’s AI quote drafter used a real electrical job (a consumer unit swap), not a plumbing job. The findings below are the same underlying AI engine plumbers would use, so we’ve been explicit here about what we actually verified for plumbing work and what we haven’t.

VioTrade is AI-powered job management software for UK tradesmen, quoting, invoicing and scheduling in one app. The feature worth knowing about is “Draft with AI”, type or dictate a rough job description and it returns itemised, priced line items. Here’s what our testing found, and what it means if you’re a plumber deciding whether to trial it.

What Is VioTrade?

VioTrade covers the core job lifecycle for UK tradespeople: quotes, invoicing, scheduling, and a customer dashboard, on a 14-day free trial with no card required to start.

What We Actually Tested

The job we fed it

A fuse board swap, an electrical job, chosen because it’s a routine job with a clear correct answer to check the output against.

What it got right

Sensible itemisation, correct components and quantities, materials priced reasonably.

What we found wrong

  • Labour badly underpriced, a full day of tradesperson labour came back at £35, nowhere near a real UK rate, a pricing issue that would apply equally to a plumbing job.
  • No certificate flagging, the job we tested needed a formal certificate and the draft said nothing about it. We haven’t independently tested whether the drafter flags plumbing-specific compliance points, such as Gas Safe registration on boiler work or WRAS-compliant parts, so treat that as unverified rather than confirmed working.
  • Leftover placeholder line, a demo line item was left in the quote unpriced rather than cleared or flagged.

What the founder fixed, confirmed on the electrical case

  • Labour now prices from your own hourly rate in Business Profile, or realistic UK trade rates instead of a flat guess, this fix is general to the pricing engine, not trade-specific
  • The drafter now flags when a job needs a certificate and names which one, we’ve only confirmed this for the electrical certificate case we originally tested
  • If a quote already has line items, it now asks whether to replace or add underneath

All three issues were reported to VioTrade’s founder, Pranjal, and fixed within a day, a genuinely fast turnaround. The labour-pricing fix is trade-agnostic and should apply just as well to a plumbing job. The certificate-flagging fix is the one we’d want to see proven on a gas or water job specifically before calling it confirmed for plumbers.

Who Is VioTrade Best Suited To Among Plumbers?

Sole trader plumbers wanting a first draft
If typing a full quote from scratch is the admin you avoid, dictating a rough job description for a quick win, like a tap or cylinder swap, is a reasonable time saver once your hourly rate is set.
Not yet for unsupervised compliance work
For anything involving Gas Safe registration, WRAS compliance, or Building Regs notification, check the drafted quote carefully rather than assuming the certificate flagging catches it, we haven’t verified that it does for plumbing specifically.

Good to Know

Worth knowing before you start

  • Set your hourly rate first, the AI drafter prices labour from your Business Profile rate once entered.
  • AI output is a starting point, VioTrade says this on the drafting screen itself, always check a generated quote before sending, especially anything gas or compliance-related.
  • Our testing was electrical, not plumbing, the pricing fix should carry over, the certificate-flagging fix for plumbing-specific compliance is unverified by us.

Verdict, Is VioTrade Worth It for Plumbers?

VioTrade’s AI quote drafting is a genuinely useful idea, and the founder’s turnaround on fixing reported bugs was fast and real. For plumbers specifically, the labour-pricing fix should transfer cleanly, but we haven’t put a gas or water compliance job through it ourselves, so we’re not going to claim it catches everything a plumber would need flagged. Worth the 14-day trial for routine quoting, with extra care on anything Gas Safe or WRAS-related until that’s independently confirmed.

TradeStack HQ helps UK tradespeople find the best tools to run smarter businesses. This review is based on hands-on testing of VioTrade’s AI quote drafting feature on an electrical job, with findings extended to plumbing where the underlying feature is trade-agnostic and flagged as unverified where it isn’t.
