UK Fencers Hub: Software, Quoting and Reviews
Everything TradeStack HQ has written for UK fencers, in one place: the best apps, job management software, invoicing tools, a guide to quoting fencing jobs by the metre, the bay, or the day, and a dedicated Tradify review. Start here and work through whichever guide matches where your admin is currently costing you the most.
Quick Answer
For most UK fencing businesses, Tradify is the best all-round choice, it prices jobs per metre, per bay, or as a day rate on the same account, links deposit requests to a confirmed start date, and covers scheduling and invoicing from your phone on site. Pricing starts from ~£34/month per user with a 14-day free trial.
If budget is the deciding factor, Traddie covers the same core ground, flexible quoting and staged payment tracking, from £9.99/month.

Why Fencers Are Different
Fencing admin does not fit neatly into one pricing model the way most trades do. Standard residential garden and boundary fencing is priced per linear metre or per bay, while agricultural, stock, and a lot of subcontract fencing work is priced as a day rate instead, closer to how groundworkers and bricklayers price CIS subcontract jobs. Plenty of fencers do both, sometimes in the same week, which is exactly why software built around a single pricing format does not fit this trade well.
Deposits work differently here too. Rather than taking a fixed percentage the moment a quote is signed off, most working fencers take roughly half the estimate shortly before a confirmed start date, or once materials have physically arrived on site, funding the panels and posts rather than asking a customer to pay for time that has not happened yet. That is why this hub leans harder on flexible pricing units and start-date-linked deposits than our guides for trades with a single, simpler pricing model.
