VioTrade Review UK Tradespeople 2026
VioTrade is AI-powered job management software for UK tradesmen, with quoting, invoicing and scheduling in one app. We tested the headline feature, an AI tool that drafts a priced quote from a rough job description, found some real early-stage bugs, and reported them. Here’s what we found, and what happened next.
What Is VioTrade?
VioTrade covers the core job lifecycle for UK tradespeople: quotes, invoicing, scheduling, and a customer dashboard, on a 14-day free trial with no card required to start. The feature we wanted to test properly was “Draft with AI”, type or dictate a rough job description and it turns it into itemised, priced line items ready to send.
What We Tested
The AI drafting flow
We fed it a real job: a fuse board swap for a 10-way consumer unit with RCBOs, the kind of job an electrician quotes weekly.
What it got right
The itemisation itself was sensible, correct components, correct quantities, materials priced reasonably.
What we found wrong
- Labour badly underpriced – a full day of electrician labour came back at £35, nowhere near a real UK rate.
- No certificate flagging – a consumer unit swap needs a full Electrical Installation Certificate and is notifiable under Part P, the draft said nothing about either.
- Leftover placeholder line – an existing demo line item was left sitting in the quote unpriced, rather than being cleared or flagged.
What the founder did about it
- Labour now prices from your own hourly rate in Business Profile, or falls back to realistic UK trade rates instead of a flat guess
- The drafter now flags when a job needs a certificate and names which one, for example a full EIC rather than a minor works certificate, and notes when work is notifiable
- If a quote already has line items, it now asks whether to replace or add underneath, rather than deciding for you
We reported all three issues directly to VioTrade’s founder, Pranjal. All three were fixed and live on the web app within a day of the report, which is the kind of turnaround you don’t often see from bigger, slower platforms.
Who Is VioTrade Best Suited To?
Good to Know
Worth knowing before you start
- Set your hourly rate first – the AI drafter prices labour from your Business Profile rate once you’ve entered it, don’t skip this step.
- AI output is a starting point – VioTrade says as much on the drafting screen itself, always check a generated quote before sending, especially on certificate and compliance items.
- Newer to the market – smaller track record than the established players, weigh that against the pace of fixes and the price.
14-day free trial, no card required. Set your hourly rate first, then try the AI quote drafter on a real job.
Verdict – Is VioTrade Worth It?
VioTrade’s AI quote drafting is a genuinely useful idea with real rough edges we found through actual hands-on testing, not a demo. What stands out isn’t that the bugs existed, most new AI features have some, it’s that they were fixed properly and fast once flagged. Worth the 14-day trial if you want AI to take a first pass at your quotes, just check your hourly rate is set and double-check anything it generates before it goes to a customer.
